Gelatinous Zooplankton Scientific Research Papers

Click on references in the left side menu for each group to find listings of a variety of scientific papers that relate to the study of gelatinous zooplankton. Refer to them for more in-depth information on gelatinous zooplankton groups or species that interest you. These papers are published in scientific journals that are not available in public libraries — you will need access to a university library or online resources. They are written for scientific audiences and thus are not always easy reading, but if you want the most up-to-date and authoritative information on gelatinous animals, you will need to go directly to the primary research sources.

To search for online literature, try the Google tool below (About Google Scholar). Use any information available — author, topic, title, words that appear in title, etc. Make your query as specific as possible to limit the number of search results. If you’re lucky, you’ll come up with a link to the complete research paper, or at least an abstract.

Another useful resource is the Guide to Open Access Journals. This listing of online databases links to some of the most reputable open-access journal websites, which enables users to access journal entries free of charge. One open-access database, the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), includes nearly 10,000 journals, some of which are marine biology related.
