Quick Guide to Pacific Coast Gelatinous Animals

Here's a look at some of the more common gelatinous animals that you may see in Monterey Bay and other locations in central California and the West Coast.  At any given time you're unlikely to find more than a few of these species, if any.  However, if you do see a jellyfish or some other gelatinous animal, there's a good chance it's on this page.  Of course, there are lots of additional species of all kinds of gelatinous animals that may also show up on your next boating excursion, so if it's not on this page, try to determine what group it belongs to and find it in the JelliesZone.
