Aglauropsis

JelliesZone  You probably won't encounter this attractive limnomedusa very often - it's known only from several locations in central California, including Monterey Bay.  The most conspicuous feature are the 4 folded curtain-like gonads, whitish or pale blue-green in color, extending along the length of each radial canal.  The central manubrium has 4 frilly lips.  The bell is transparent with a diameter up to 2 cm.  Lining the bell margin is a relatively broad ring canal and 60 to 100 statocysts.  About 200 tentacles of different lengths attach at varying heights above the bell margin.
